Travel & Stay
Party hard and sleep like a princess!
The wedding will take place at Maryhill, Gumslöv, just south of Helsingborg. There are many hotels and hostels close by that we can recommend! We will have a taxi driver that drives for us all evening so you get home safely!
We know that Maryhill is very expensive for you to stay, and we therefore don’t expect you to stay with us at the estate (but are super happy if you do so!). Here we show multiple suggestions and we want you to find something within your budget!

How to get to Maryhill?
Flight: If you fly from the US or Germany, we recommend you to fly to Copenhagen and then take the train / or rent a car and drive it across the Malmö bridge. If you fly from Stockholm you can fly to Ängelholm or Malmö and then take the train.
Train: From Stockholm C to Helsingborg C, takes around 5 hours. From Helsingborg it’s a short taxi to Maryhill or the hotels suggested. Book the train at SJ or Snälltåget.
Car: Takes around 6 hours from Stockholm, but is a very beautiful drive. We always stop at Gränna in Jönköping along the way! Don’t forget to buy a candy cane! We recommend a roadtrip with friends! Listen to Davids road mix!
Bus: Flix bus drives Stockholm- Helsingborg, very cheap option to travel.
From 350 kr / per way.

What we recommend if you stay the weekend

Talk a walk around Råå
Spend a day at Råå! This is the main reason why the wedding is located where it is. At Råå, Maria’s grandmothers grandfather (yes you read that correctly..) was a tailor and the family still own a cute house at the street of Missionsgatan. Råå is Marias favorite place in the entire world. It’s Sweden’s oldest Fishing town, and during the war it was a smuggling city. Today it’s a beautiful coastal town with old small houses and rocky streets. Bring your bathing suit and take a swim in the ocean, and then eat lunch at Kajgatan 1 or Trivas på Råå.

Bike around Ven!
The most beautiful Island in Sweden you didn’t know existed? Yes, that’s Ven according to Maria and David et al.
Take the boat to Ven from Råå or Landskrona. It takes around 30-45 minutes. Rent a yellow bike, and bike around the island and enjoy the beautiful scenery! Interested in history? The island was historically under Danish rule. Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601) built two observatories there, Uraniborg and Stjerneborg. Many cute places to have lunch and dinner!

Day trip to Kullaberg
Unique nature and perfect for a hike is Kullaberg! It’s a nature reserve that is known for its dramatic nature with cliffs, caves, and trails for adventurous hikes or bike rides. If you like art the controversal piece “Nimis” is found here.

Visit Denmark 🇩🇰
Many Swedes (incl. David) jokingly say they want to give back Skåne to Denmark. That would be horrible if you ask us, because Skåne is the best Sweden has to offer (according to Mary). But, given historical reasons the ties between Denmark and Skåne are very close. If you have the time, we recommend a weekend in Denmark. You can very easily and cheap get a boat ticket from Helsingborg to Helsingör and it only takes 20 minutes to cross. Helsingör is a cute little city and here you find the 15th-century Kronborg Castle that provided the setting for Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” If you prefer big city life Copenhagen is only a train ride away!
